While I am not a lighting designer, during grad school, I was lucky enough be taught by Shannon Schweitzer just enough to be dangerous. The following Concert Lighting Design samples were all programmed in EOS for ETC with Pre-vis Renderings created in Capture. Featured on this page are Small Venue, Warehouse, and Arena projects I created for Shannon’s class, and I include them here, mostly just for fun. No, I did not get to go on tour with Metallica, but I have been lucky enough to “tour” with the other two artists whose music is used in these samples, The Tightys, and Jack Pearce. Enjoy.
This project was a Small Venue assignment – I recreated a local pub that The Tightys used to play at regularly to render this fantasy lighting design for (my favorite song), Be Cool.
The next project with music by Jack Pearce – Let the Robots Speak – is actually a recording that I “busked” using a magic sheet rather than a pre-programmed set of sequential cues. While there are cue sequences, the “show” recorded here was played along to the music as an improvisation.
And the final project is an experiment in lighting in an outdoor arena venue.
